Marino, Simon Play a Lengthy Pot; Talbot Calls the Clock Twice
Gilles Simon and Julio Marino were heads-up on a flop of 3♠7♠Q♦ when Simon led out for 1,000 from the big blind. Marino then raised to 2,500 under the gun.
As Simon began thinking over the decision, Parker Talbot across the table fidgeted with his chips until they were in a big pile in front of him. "Until I have 120,000 my chips always look like this," he told Konstantin Held sitting next to him.
The turn came the 10♣ and Simon checked over to Marino, who took his time before betting 2,600. Simon then tanked again.
"We're playing a turbo. The slowest f**king turbo ever, but a turbo nonetheless," Talbot said as he got up from his seat.
Simon eventually called. "Another street, woo," Talbot said sarcastically as the A♣ fell. Simon checked again and action went on Marino.
"Time," Talbot yelled out as Marino took nearly a minute before acting. He eventually bet 8,000 before the floor even arrived.
"It's almost like as soon as you call time they realize they're being unreasonable," Talbot added.
Simon then began tanking once more. "Time," Talbot called out again. Simon ultimately decided to give up his hand.
"He takes a minute on every decision. This is our third hand of the level and we're 20 minutes in," Talbot complained.
"I definitely don't take a minute every decision. We've had some big pots," Simon replied, defending himself.
