Solak Springs the Trap
Gary Miller opened under the gun to 700. He got a call from Mustapha Kanit on the button, Serken Solak in the small blind, and Hael Al Labani in the big blind. They were off to a flop four ways.
The 4♦J♥3♣ flop hit the felt and action checked to Miller who continued for 1,800. Kanit called on the button before Solak put in a check-raise to 5,100. Al Labani and Miller both got out of the way but Kanit seemed to have enough to complete on the button and threw in the rest of the chips.
The A♣ landed on the turn and without thinking for too long Solak moved all in for 10,800. Kanit thought it over for a few minutes an eventually found a call. Unfortunately, he got some bad news when the cards were tabled.
Serken Solak: K♦K♣
Mustapha Kanit: 8♣8♥
Kanit was looking for help in the form of an eight but the rescue-card would not come as the dealer put out the 10♣ on the river.
Solak earned the pure double and Kanit was left with a crippled stack early in the day.
