Orpaz Takes From Grafton; Beresford Nearly Moves In
Tom Orpaz raised to 2,500 from under the gun and was called by Jean-Noel Thorel before Sam Grafton three-bet to 10,000 on the button. Orpaz called, while Thorel got out of the way.
The flop came 5♣8♣K♦ and Grafton continued for 8,000. Orpaz called and both players checked the 2♦ turn.
Orpaz led out for 30,000 on the 8♥ river and Grafton called. Orpaz then showed 8♣7♠ for trip eights. "Yolo," he said as he took the pot.
The next hand, Thorel opened under the gun to 2,500 and Conor Beresford three-bet to 11,000 in the small blind. Thorel called and they went heads-up to the Q♣5♣A♦ flop.
Beresford bet 12,000 and Thorel called. The turn came the J♠ and Beresford bet 29,000 this time.
Thorel again called to the 4♦ river, where Beresford tossed out 121,500, leaving himself just one 1,000 chip behind. Thorel open-mucked K♣K♦.
"Show the bluff," Orpaz told Beresford.
"Pick one," Beresford replied, giving his cards to Orpaz who exposed the A♥.
"Back to starting stack," Orpaz added.
