Thorel And Brito Split

Level 17 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

After an open by Jean-Noel Thorel to 50,000 from the hijack, Pablo Brito three-bet all in to approximately 250,000 chips. He was called by Thorel.

Pablo Brito: AQ
Jean-Noel Thorel: AA

As expected, the board 877J didn’t change anything, and the two players split the pot.

Lucky Straight For Ding

Level 16 : 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante

From the hijack, Biao Ding went all in for 293,000 chips. Then in the cutoff, Jean-Noel Thorel reshoved with a bigger stack, while all the other players folded.

Biao Ding: AQ
Jean-Noel Thorel: AK

On 3J210, Ding was on the edge of elimination. But the K gave him a straight on the river to save him. Thorel, who didn’t see the straight, was clearly disappointed when he realized he lost the pot.

Double Up For Yan

Level 16 : Blinds 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante

In a blind versus blind situation, Hyun Kim and David Yan put all their chips in the middle, with Yan being at risk with 293,000 chips.

Hyun Kim: A5
David Yan: 88

A five on the flop 53K gave a pair to Kim. But Yan’s eights stayed ahead on the turn 4 and the river Q, so he doubled up.

The dealer announced "all in and call" when Timothy Adams and his stack of 170,000 chips in the small blind were called by Hyun Kim in middle position on a flop 662.

Timothy Adams: AJ
Hyun Kim: 65

Even though Adams hit a pair of aces thanks to the turn A, he was eliminated after the river 7. Finishing 7th, he is the bubble-boy of the tournament.

Felipe Ketzer opened to 26,000 from the hijack and was called by Hyun Kim on the button. But in the small blind, Ren Lin three-bet all in for 234,000 chips. Ketzer called and made Kim fold.

Felipe Ketzer: AQ
Ren Lin: 88

Ketzer hit a pair directly on the flop JA5 and took the lead. He stayed ahead after the turn 7 and the river Q, which gave him another pair. Lin kept his smile but was eliminated in 8th place. There are now seven players left for six places in the money.

Kim Takes From Brazilians

Level 15 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Felipe Ketzer opened from under the gun and was called by Hyun Kim in middle position and by the big blind.

On the flop 237, Ketzer made a continuation bet of 18,000 that only Kim called. But when Ketzer asked for 37,000 more on the turn 10, Kim raised to 90,000. Ketzer made the call but went deep into the tank on the river 3 because, in front of him, Kim bet 155,000.

Ketzer eventually folded, letting this big pot go to Kim.

Minutes later, it was Pablo Brito’s turn to suffer. On 3K93, his bet worth 90,000 was called by Kim, as well as his other bet of 200,000 on the river 6. Kim quickly called with 99 for a full house. With A3 for trips, Brito couldn’t do much against that.
