Beresford Fires Three Million On River
Level 31
: Blinds 100,000/150,000, 150,000 ante
Candido Cappiello raised from the hijack and Conor Beresford called in the big blind. The flop came 3♥3♣10♣. Beresford checked and Cappiello put out a bet, which Beresford called.
The turn came the 7♦ and Beresford led out for 1,500,000. Cappiello called. The river was the A♦. Beresford announced his bet of three million. Cappiello went into the tank. "Do you bluff the ace?", he asked. But Beresford simply looked across the table, giving nothing away.
Several minutes passed before Cappiello threw his hand into the muck to fold.
"Show the bluff," said a neutral player.
"Jack, nine high?", said another.
"I can't show the bluff," said Beresford, "it was such a strong hand."
