The 2022 PokerStars European Poker Tour presented by Monte-Carlo Casino®️ continues today on the French Riviera at Monte-Carlo Sporting, and Day 3 action in the €1,100 French Poker Series (FPS) Main Event will pick up at noon local time.
This is the biggest turnout in the history of the tournament, attracting 1,918 total entries from 62 countries to create a massive €1,841,280 prize pool. Only 62 players remain, and although each player returning today has locked up €4,200, all eyes are on the first-place prize of €290,910.
Play will resume in Level 23 and blinds will be 10,000/25,000 with a 25,000 big blind ante. French player Gregory [Removed:372] will return with the chip lead holding 2,500,000 chips, good for 100 big blinds. Others over the two-million chip mark are Brazil’s Lucas Scafini (2,250,000), Eugenio Peralta (2,240,000), and Florian Decamps (2,150,000).
Some notables still in contention for the top prize and the glory include Mehdi Chaoui, Imad Derwiche, Jaime Cervantes, Motoyoshi Okamura, and Javier Gomez. The field will continue to be whittled down today before players return on Monday to play to a winner. Today, the plan is to play ten levels or down to six players.
Stay tuned as the PokerNews team continues to bring you updates throughout the tournament until a champion is crowned.
Cards are in the air and play is now underway for Day 3 of the FPS Main Event.

Mehdi Chaoui raised to 55,000 from under the gun and Angelo Castriotta three-bet to 125,000 from the cutoff. The button and blinds got out of the way and Chaoui went into the tank.
After some chatter with his opponent, Chaoui picked up his cards to fold.
"I will fold this time. I will fold. But next time I go all in," Chaoui said with a smile as he tossed his cards in the muck.
Chaoui is looking for a big day so he can make a run at his first EPT title after a red-hot 2022 where he has two victories and four second place finishes at poker tournaments throughout France.
