Volkmann Takes Three-Way All In With Quads

Level 11 : Blinds 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
Bruno Volkmann
Bruno Volkmann

Sirzat Hissou raised to 11,000 from the cutoff and was called by Bruno Volkmann on the button and big blind Daniel Dvoress.

The flop came {3-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{6-Clubs} and action checked to Volkmann who bet 11,000. Dvoress raised all in for 79,000, Hissou used a time bank before calling, and Volkmann also called for 180,000.

Daniel Dvoress: {10-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}
Bruno Volkmann: {6-Spades}{6-Diamonds}
Sirzat Hissou: {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs}

Hissou was ahead with his flopped flush, but Volkmann spiked the {6-Hearts} on the turn to make quads and leave both his opponents drawing dead. Dvoress was eliminated, while Hissou was left with only 5,000.

Ayras Done; Hissou Survives

Level 11 : Blinds 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Pauli Ayras had managed to increase his stack to 35,000 when he shoved from the cutoff. David Peters in the small blind reshoved and Pablo Brito Silva in the big blind got out of the way.

Pauli Ayras: {q-Clubs}{9-Clubs}
David Peters: {q-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}

The board came {5-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} and Ayras was already standing up from his chair by the time the {5-Hearts} fell on the river, sending him to the rail.

At the same time on another table, Sirzat Hissou was all in for 54,000 and up against Artur Martirosian. Hissou had {10-Hearts}{10-Spades} and needed to hold on against Martirosian's {a-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}.

Martirosian didn't improve on the {2-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{8-Spades}{k-Diamonds} board and Hissou doubled up.

Chidwick Sends Smith to The Rail Early

Level 11 : Blinds 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
Dan Smith

The action was picked up in a pot of roughly 60,000 on a board showing {k-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}. Stephen Chidwick moved all in, covering the around 40,000 stack of Dan Smith, who made the call.

Stephen Chidwick: {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades}

Smith was in need of help against the better kicker of Chidwick and when the river came the {6-Clubs} it was the end of the road for Smith as he was eliminated in the first level of Day 2.

"That was 25k well spent, good luck guys," said Smith as he exited the tournament area.

Ayras Already on the Ropes

Level 11 : Blinds 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Pablo Brito Silva raised to 10,000 from the hijack before Pauli Ayras shoved all in from the big blind. Brito Silva used a time bank before committing his last 75,000.

Pablo Brito Silva: {5-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}
Pauli Ayras: {10-Clubs}{9-Clubs}

Ayras picked up a flush draw heading to the river on a {2-Hearts}{8-Spades}{8-Clubs}{6-Clubs} board as well as his two overcards and counterfeit outs, but he missed the {8-Diamonds} as Brito Silva doubled up with a full house.

Ayras, another player who took his seat at the start of Day 2, is already down to 10,000 less than 10 minutes into his tournament.
