Pardo Runs Into Volkmann's Aces

Level 18 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

The action folded to big stack Juan Pardo on the button who sized up the stacks in the blinds before announcing all in. Daewoong Song burned through two time banks in the small blind before deciding to fold and Bruno Volkmann had a quick decision by snap-calling off his stack of 580,000 in the big blind.

Juan Pardo: {a-Hearts}{8-Hearts}
Bruno Volkmann: {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}

Despite being well behind, Pardo flopped plenty of equity with a flush draw on the {k-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{6-Hearts} flop. However, the {2-Diamonds} and {10-Clubs} bricked out and Volkmann doubled up into the chip lead.

Meanwhile, at the other table, Henrik Hecklen also doubled up with {8-Spades}{8-Clubs} against Pablo Brito Silva's {k-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}. Hecklen flopped a set of eights and held on to leave Brito Silva also on the short stack.

Wakil Jams River on Pardo

Level 18 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Jamil Wakil limped the button and Juan Pardo checked his option.

The dealer spread the {6-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{2-Clubs} flop and Pardo check-called for 50,000.

On the {q-Diamonds} turn, Pardo again check-called, this time for 150,000.

The {9-Hearts} completed the board and Pardo checked again. Wakil used a time extension before moving all in for 245,000. Pardo used a time extension of his own, but ultimately sent his cards into the muck.

Trips for Seidel

Level 17 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Pedro Garagnani limped in from the small blind and Erik Seidel checked his option in the big blind. The flop came {k-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{5-Spades} and Garagnani led out with a bet of 20,000. Seidel raised to 60,000 and Garagnani called.

The {5-Clubs} paired the board on the turn and Garagnani checked to Seidel who tossed in another bet of 70,000. Garagnani still called and the {3-Hearts} completed the board.

Garagnani checked again and Seidel moved all in for 260,000. Garagnani asked for a count and then used one of this time banks before flicking in a chip to call. Seidel tabled {5-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} for trip fives while Garagnani was forced to show his {k-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}.

Song and Wakil Keep the Double-Up Streak Going

Level 17 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Many players are finding themselves around the 10 big blind mark and Daewoong Song was one of them. He shoved all in for 230,000 and was called by Rodrigo Sirichuk in the big blind.

Song tabled {a-Spades}{j-Diamonds} which was in a favorable position against the {a-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} of Sirichuk. The board ran out {j-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{8-Clubs} and Song improved his position with a double-up.

On the next hand, Bruno Volkmann opened to 40,000 and Jamil Wakil three-bet to 255,000, leaving himself with just 5,000 chips behind which was soon committed after Volkmann announced all in.

The two players were flipped with Wakil holding {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs} and Volkmann showing {a-Hearts}{q-Clubs}. The flop of {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{5-Spades} put Volkmann in the lead as Wakil rose from his seat. The {6-Clubs} on the turn changed nothing but the {j-Spades} on the river was one of the two outs Wakil needed to stay alive.

Sirichuk Spikes to Survive

Level 17 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Rodrigo Sirichuk
Rodrigo Sirichuk

Rodrigo Sirichuk moved all in for 205,000 in the cutoff and Juan Pardo called on the button.

Rodrigo Sirichuk: {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}
Juan Pardo: {a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}

The {j-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} flop left Sirichuk needing help, and although the {j-Hearts} turn changed nothing, the {10-Clubs} spiked the river to improve Sirichuk to a straight, keeping his tournament life alive.
