Beresford Shoves the River

Level 31 : Blinds 100,000/150,000, 150,000 ante
Conor Beresford
Conor Beresford

Conor Beresford raised on the button to 375,000 and found a call from Jon Kyte in the big blind. Kyte quickly checked the {10-Spades}{8-Spades}{5-Diamonds} flop, and Beresford continued for 750,000.

Kyte called to see the {6-Diamonds} before checking again. Beresford counted out a bet of 1,400,000 and Kyte took some time before making the call. Another check followed on the {j-Hearts} river, and Beresford announced all in.

Kyte jokingly asked "how much is it?" before going into the tank. After a few minutes, Beresford called the clock as Kyte agonized over his decision. After allowing all 30 seconds to wind down, Kyte slid his cards to the dealer and Beresford padded his chip lead even further.

Vincenzo Schiavottiello went all in from the button for a little over 1,000,000. Martin Jacobson called in the big blind.

Vincenzo Schiavottiello: {5-Spades}{5-Hearts}
Martin Jacobson: {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}

The flop came down {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{2-Spades} to pair Jacobson and leave Schiavottiello reeling. The turn was the {10-Hearts} and the river the {j-Clubs} to cut the field down by one more.

Olivier Arnault Eliminated in 6th Place (£47,190)

Level 31 : Blinds 100,000/150,000, 150,000 ante
Olivier Arnault
Olivier Arnault

Olivier Arnault jammed from the small blind for about 2,500,000. Conor Beresford gave a bit of a wry smile as he called and rolled over the {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}. Arnault threw his head back before turning over the {j-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} as he was on the wrong end of a big blind-on-blind cooler.

Beresford was anti-sweating himself as he called for a jack and sure enough there was a jack in the window but the dealer fanned out {j-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{a-Hearts} to reveal an ace as well to make Arnault sigh with disappointment.

The turn was the {2-Hearts} and the river the {9-Spades} to end the run for Arnault as the first victim of the day in sixth place.

Chip Leaders Trade Jabs

Level 31 : Blinds 100,000/150,000, 150,000 ante

The top two stacks at the table battled on a pair of hands, as Jon Kyte and Conor Beresford each opened to 300,000 only to see the other move all in.

Both shoves produced folds, as well as some smirks at the table with several shorter stacks watching on.

Jams With No Callers

Level 31 : Blinds 100,000/150,000, 150,000 ante

Conor Beresford raised to 300,000 from the cutoff. Martin Jacobson jammed from the button which cleared everyone else out.

On the next hand, Olivier Arnault jammed from under the gun and got no callers as play continues to be tepid for the first few orbits with very few flops being seen.
