El Asmar Holds, Ruida Can't Pull the Trigger

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Preflop, the stack of an unknown player under the gun was in the middle for 67,000 and Hady El Asmar had come over the top for 87,400. Presumably, the player under the gun had limp-shoved all in, as both Lin Ruida and Ran Azor had 6,300 in front of them in the blinds.

Ruida, not shy of the spotlights, took the better part of three minutes and appeared to be looking to make a big overcall. He ultimately didn't do so but was in dismay when {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} from the under-the-gun player and {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts} from El Asmar.

"Ace-king, ace-queen, I thought so," the Chinese player chimed in, claiming he folded pocket sixes. The board ran out {8-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{5-Spades}{4-Hearts}{6-Clubs} and much to Ruida's dismay, El Asmar walked away with the sizable pot.
