Greenwood Doubles Again

Level 20 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Jans Arends opened to 100,000 in middle position and action folded around to Sam Greenwood in the big blind. Greenwood defended and the flop came {k-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{10-Spades}. Greenwood checked to Arends, who made a continuation-bet of 75,000 which Greenwood called, bringing the turn {2-Spades} on board. Both players checked.

The river came {a-Spades} and Greenwood thought for 25 seconds before checking over to Arends, who in turn thought for even longer, utilizing a time bank extension before announcing he was all in. Greenwood immediately called.

Sam Greenwood: {q-Hearts}{j-Hearts}
Jans Arends: {6-Hearts}{6-Spades}

Greenwood was once the flop came but the majority of his chips didn't get in the middle until the river when his Broadway was more than good against Arends' pair of sixes, earning him the double to put him over 1 million and resulting in Arends falling below 2 million, though ever-increasing blinds continue to bring the effective average stack size lower and lower as seven-handed play continues.
