Yankov First To Take Trip To Payout Desk

Thi Nguyen opened the action with a raise to 20,000 in early position and received calls from Ludovic Geilich in middle position as well as Sam Greenwood, who was in the small blind. Action was then on Krasimir Yankov in the big blind and he sat for a bit, thinking about his decision until the dealer announced that he had five seconds left on his shot clock.

"All in," said Yankov. Nguyen folded, Geilich called, and Greenwood folded.

"All in and call!" said the dealer as the two remaining players tabled their hands. Yankov was in bad shape.

Krasimir Yankov: {k-Spades}{q-Spades}
Ludovic Geilich: {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}

The flop came {5-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} to give Yankov a backdoor flush draw despite his odds deteriorating. Those backdoor outs were slammed shut on the turn {j-Clubs}, leaving him with just three cards in the deck that would keep him alive. Unfortunately for him, the river {8-Spades} was not one of them and he was eliminated from the tournament in 31st place just moments after the bubble burst. Meanwhile, Geilich now finds himself with over 1.2 million in chips, making him the clear chip leader at this point in the tournament.
