Katzenberger Climbing

Level 13 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Vlado Banicevic opened to 7,000 in early position and action folded around to Pavel Plesuv, who called from the small blind. Viktor Katzenberger was next to act in the big blind and three-bet to 28,000. Banicevic found action back on him and needed to use a time extension to consider his decision before settling on a call. Plesuv also called and all three players went to the streets.

The flop came {9-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{k-Clubs} and both Plesuv and Katzenberger checked. Banicevic made a bet of 27,000, prompting a fold from Plesuv and a call from Katzenberger. Action was then heads up and checked through the turn {2-Clubs} and river {k-Hearts} to take the hand to showdown.

Katzenberger tabled {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds} for two pair, kings and jacks, and Banicevic tapped the felt to acknowledge a nice hand before sending his own two cards to the muck. With the pot, Katzenberger now finds himself with a stack of 450,000, making him one of the largest in the room with Level 13 soon coming to a close.
