The Defending Champion Keeps On Defending

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Dmitry Shchepkin
Dmitry Shchepkin

Dimitry Shchepkin, the defending champion, raised from under the gun and was only called by Roland Rozel in the hijack.

The flop came {7-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{3-Diamonds}, Shchepkin continued with a bet of 3,500 which Rozel called.

The turn brought them the {6-Hearts} and Shchepkin barreled another bet over the line, now for 7,000. Rozel called again.

The river completed the board with the {4-Diamonds}. Shchepkin flicked in a bet of 30,000 which sent Rozel into the tank. After about two minutes, Rozel opted to fold, claiming to have had {a-}{5-} for a straight. Shchepkin said he had a straight too.
