€5,200 PLO High Roller Champion Krzysztof Magott

After 13 hours yesterday, it took just 12 hands today for Krzysztof Magott to secure victory in the PokerStars and Monte-Carlo®Casino European Poker Tour €5,200 PLO Single-Day High Roller.

Heads-up opponent Alexandre Amiel closed the gap with a full house on the very first hand, but after calling a three-bet he was forced to fold on a king-high boar. Later, Amiel would tell Magott that he folded double-suited queens, with Magott responding that he had aces.

Regardless, on the very next hand, it was over. This is Magott's third PLO cash of the festival, after cashing the €550 and €1,100 side events.

"My main game is cash PLO," Magott told PokerNews after his victory. "Lately I've been working on my game, especially on PLO ICM stuff, so I was probably aware of the concepts which very few people at the final table, maybe none, were aware of.

"Actually when there were 24 players left I saw there were some players that were better than me, but they busted so I was lucky. So by the time there were 16 left I was pretty sure that I'm the best player and then I was just pushing a little bit of an edge.

Most of Magott's Hendon Mob cashes are in PLO, but this is his first recorded win.

"I checked and this is my 13th final table and my first win! I think now I'm going to go work a little bit on my game and then play SCOOP. I mean, first I'm going to chill. Then work on my game and SCOOP!"
