Babaev Takes Chip Lead

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Zakhar Babaev raised to 3,300 from the hijack and was called by Julien Martini in the cutoff. Aladin Reskallah shoved on the button for 26,700 and the blinds quickly folded. Babaev and Martini both made the call.

The flop came {k-Clubs}{q-Spades}{3-Clubs} on which both players checked to the {a-Spades} on the turn. Babaev bet 10,500 and Martini called.

The river completed the board with the {q-Hearts} and Babaev continued with a bet of 25,500. Martini took some time to think and then reluctantly folded.

"Good fold" Babaev commented and then tabled {k-Spades}{k-Hearts} for the rivered full house.

Reskallah got up from his chair and showed he held {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} which wasn't good enough to stay in the tournament.

"I folded {j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}" Martini said. "How disappointed are you?" he added with a smile.
