Welcome Back to Day 2 of the €10,300 No-Limit Hold'em High Roller
While it was a brief introduction for most of the players to the 2019 PokerStars and Monte-Carlo®Casino EPT festival, it will be a quick turnaround before Day 2 of €10,300 No-Limit Hold'em High Roller gets underway. Just 12 hours after Day 1 wrapped up, at least 40 players will be returning to their seats for some poker action.
After eight levels on the opening day, Erik Seidel bagged up the chip lead with 186,000 chips. Most of his chips came on the heels of a massive pot that took place on the second hand of the day where he eliminated Alex Foxen, who will not be returning for Day 2. Seidel is looking to feed off his good fortune at the Monte Carlo Bay Resort and Casino where his last major win took place in the same building four years ago.
Life at the felt won't be easy for the longtime poker pro who will have to deal with many of the game's top players hot on his heels. Matthias Eibinger (159,500), Ole Schemion (141,600), Ben Heath (124,900), and Hiroyuki Noda (123,000) round out the top five chip counts.
The cards will be back in the air at 12:30 p.m. local time and late registration will remain open until that point. This single re-entry event will still allow some players to take a second shot if they choose to do so, or some late comers may get their first taste of the action. For any new players, they will be given a starting stack of 50,000 chips with the blinds resuming at 600/1,200 and a 1,200 big blind ante.
The levels will be increased to 60 minutes in length going forward with a 20-minute break taking place after every two levels. A total of 10 levels are on the schedule for today with a 75-minute dinner break taking place after six levels. Each player will be given an extra three time banks to go along with those carried over from Day 1. The action is expected to wrap up on Day 3 where a champion will be crowned.
