At 12:30 PM local time, one of the marquee events of the PokerStars and Monte-Carlo®Casino EPT here at the Monte Carlo Bay Resort & Hotel kicks off. The first day of the €100,000 Super High Roller has arrived and will attract some of the most well-known high stakes poker players in the world to the felt here in Monaco. Sam Greenwood won the Super High Roller last year and added the first-place prize of €1,520,000 to his bankroll.

The 2018 EPT Super High Roller attracted 30 unique entries with 16 reentries creating a total prize pool of €4,462,920 with 6 players cashing in total. Christoph Vogelsang, Ali Reza Fatehi, Ole Schemion, Justin Bonomo, and Isaac Haxton all finished in the money. Vogelsang and Bonomo have not been spotted here yet so it remains to be seen if they will be participating again this year to try and get a better result.

The players will start with a stack of 250,000 and six time-bank cards worth 30 seconds each as there is a 30-second shot clock throughout the whole tournament. Day 1 has eight levels of 60 minutes on the schedule with a 20-minute break after every two levels. Players can reenter for an unlimited number of times and the registration period will remain open until the start of Day 2 on Sunday, April 28, at 12:30 PM local time. Three extra time bank cards will be handed out to the players on Day 2 and at the start of the official final table.
