High Rollers Return on Day 6 of the PokerStars and Monte-Carlo©Casino EPT
We're six days in at the 2018 PokerStars and Monte-Carlo©Casino EPT and have reached the halfway point in the French Riviera, where the sun is starting to show itself more and more. Six events are in store today, with PokerNews focusing its attention on the three major ones that grace the schedule.
First and foremost, Day 1b of the €5,300 EPT Main Event kicks off at noon. For the first time ever in Monaco, players are allowed a reentry once they bust, and 37 of them already opted for that second chance on Day 1a. Together with 245 unique entries, a total of 282 entries have already been made in the EPT Main Event. A bigger field is expected today and PokerNews will be on hand to provide live coverage. Ten levels of 60 minutes each will be played until chips are bagged for the night.
At 12:30 p.m., the high rollers return for the spectacular €50,000 Single-Day No-Limit Hold'em. As the name implies, players will play down from start to finish today, with a single reentry allowed for those that run out of chips. The shot clock is in play, giving players 30 seconds to come to a decision, as well as six 30 second time bank cards to extend the clock. Levels will be 30 minutes throughout the day. Usual suspects such as Sam Greenwood, Christoph Vogelsang and Ole Schemion are among those expected to contest for the title.
The ever-popular €330 EPT Cup will combine their four starting flights today and play down to a winner tonight. 1,057 players have entered one of the flights and at 1 p.m., 158 of them will return for Day 2, with each of them already secured a cash prize of at least €510. The winner at the end of the long day will receive a smashing payday of €55,500. Levels will be 30 minutes from start to finish.
It's also time for the Twitch special, where eight PokerStars representatives take to the felt in a special winner-takes-all tournament with a $5,000 SCOOP Main Event ticket awaiting the winner. Fintan Hand, winner of last night's Right to Play Charity event, Ben Spragg, Lex Veldhuis, Randy Lew, Celina Lin, Fatima Moreira de Melo, Liv Boeree and Jake Cody will battle it out in a contest featuring many poker and non-poker challenges. Check out the live stream here, as well as on Twitch and PokerStars TV.
PokerNews will bring you recaps, features and updates from all of the above throughout the day as our continued coverage of the PokerStars and Monte-Carlo©Casino EPT rolls on.
