Michaelis Wins Some Back

Level 23 : 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Andrey Pateychuk limped in from under the gun and so did Paul Michaelis in the cutoff. Carlos Branco completed his small blind and Natalie Teh opted to check her big blind.

They all checked through the {k-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{2-Hearts} on the flop to the {4-Hearts} on the turn. Branco checked, Teh bet 40,000, Pateychuk called but Michaelis decided to raise to 140,000. Branco and Teh folded and Pateychuk made the call.

The river completed the board with the {5-Spades}, both players checked. Pateychuk tabled {k-Hearts}{9-Hearts} for the flopped two pair with the nine-kicker but Michaelis scooped the pot with the same two pair but as he held {k-Spades}{j-Spades}, Michaelis had the higher kicker.
