Szecsi Saved With a Chop

Level 13 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Dietrich Fast raised to 260,000 from early position and left himself with around 30,000 behind. The action folded to Norbert Szecsi on the button who moved all in for around 300,000 and Fast called when action folded back to him.

Norbert Szecsi: {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}
Dietrich Fast: {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}

Board: {4-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{4-Spades}{3-Diamonds}

Fast had Szecsi dominated and was all set for a double up. But the board fell kindly for Szecsi, and the players ended up chopping the pot holding two pair with the ace kicker.

Plesuv into the Chip Lead

Level 13 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Pavel Plesuv opened to 37,000 and Norbert Szecsi called in the big blind. The pair checked the {9-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} flop and Szecsi bet 45,000 on the {5-Clubs} turn.

Plesuv called and Szecsi then bet 85,000 on the {k-Diamonds} river. Plesuv called.

"Ace-ten," said Szecsi showing {a-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}. Plesuv turned over {k-Hearts}{j-Spades} for a rivered pair of kings and took down the pot.

Tsugunari Toma raised to 35,000 from early position and was met with a three-bet all in for 180,000 from Michael Addamo in the next seat. The rest of the table folded and when the decision was back on Toma, he folded after Addamo's stack amount was confirmed.

Plesuv Doubles Through Carrel Again

Level 12 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Charlie Carrel opened to 25,000 and Pavel Plesuv three-bet all in for 294,000. It folded back to Carrel who called.

Charlie Carrel: {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}
Pavel Plesuv: {3-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}

Carrel was in a good position to send a player to the rail in the last hand before dinner, but the {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}{3-Clubs} flop gave Plesuv a set.

The turn {6-Clubs} gave Carrel a flush draw and the {a-Clubs} elicited an "Oh!" of delight from Carrel, before his shoulders sank as he realised it gave his opponent a full house.

Fast Triples Up

Level 12 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Charlie Carrel raised to 30,000 from the hijack and saw Dietrich Fast three-bet to 90,000 from the small blind. Carrel sniggered when he saw Fast had left himself with just 7,000 behind, but he had a decision when Corentin Ropert called from the big blind.

Carrel also called, and when the flop fell {a-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{10-Spades}, Fast put his 7,000 into the middle.

Ropert called, as did Carrel and they went heads-up to the {7-Diamonds} turn. Ropert then check-folded to a 75,000 bet from Carrel, and the latter went to showdown with Fast.

Fast tabled {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs} for top pair and Carrel was behind with {j-Hearts}{10-Clubs} for second pair. Fast held on the river and secured a triple up to 300,000.

Pavel Plesuv
Pavel Plesuv

Charlie Carrel opened to 25,000 and Pavel Plesuv defended his big blind.

The flop came {a-Spades}{q-Spades}{7-Diamonds}. Plesuv checked and Carrel continued for 12,000. Plesuv check-raised all in and Carrel called.

Pavel Plesuv: {q-Hearts}{7-Clubs}
Charlie Carrel: {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs}

The turn {3-Diamonds} and river {8-Hearts} changed nothing and Plesuv doubled for his remaining 116,000.

Ropert Doubles Through Reixach

Level 12 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Charlie Carrel opened the action with a raise to 25,000 from under the gun before Sergi Reixach called in middle position. With the decision on Corentin Ropert, he three-bet to 96,000 which got Carrel out of the way.

Reixach went into the tank, using a time bank card, to think before he announced all in and was snap-called by Ropert.

Corentin Ropert: {k-Hearts}{k-Spades}
Sergi Reixach: {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}

Board: {6-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}

Ropert was in good shape to double up with his pocket kings and held on the flop, with Reixach needing to spike an ace. The turn gave Ropert the backdoor flush draw to extend his advantage, and the river sealed the pot in his favor.

Ropert moves up to 850,000, while Reixach is left with 120,000.
