Defending Champion Tang in "Field of Sickos"
With 70 players from a field of 259 left in the EPT Prague €10,300 High Roller, defending champion Danny Tang is still going strong and he says that the title of defending champion "definitely means something" to him.
"In general I think this is a really prestigious event," said Tang. "In a €10k High Roller, you know, some of the best in the world are still here. It's just good to compete with some of the best."
The atmosphere has changed here on Day 2, with re-entries no longer available and the field slowly shrinking until the money with all sorts of players still in.
"You get different kind of players in this event. Some are always on the phone, whereas others are here right from the very beginning on Day 1. In general everyone is going to be very focused because of the fact it's a €10k High Roller."
Last year Tang took down the €10,300 High Roller when it was part of the PokerStars Championship, and Tang says that this year the field is still very tough, despite there being, in his words, "less sickos".
"I think the brand is still the same, even last year when it was the PokerStars Championship everyone knows it's still EPT. A lot of players aren't here, but I wouldn't say the field is better.
"There are just less sickos - still very tough though, obviously!"
