Level 26 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante
Mats Karlsson
Mats Karlsson

Hand #16: Peter Ockenden raised to 115,000 with {J-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} from the cutoff. Dmitry Yurasov three-bet to 310,000 with {A-Spades}{5-Hearts} on the button. Ockenden folded and Yurasov won the pot.

Hand #17: Dmitry Yurasov raised from the cutoff with {Q-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} and Mats Karlsson defended his big blind with {J-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}. Karlsson flopped middle pair on a {9-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{4-Spades} flop and check-called a bet of 150,000.

The {J-Hearts} on the turn gave Karlsson two pair, but Yurasov picked up a straight draw. Karlsson checked and Yurasov fired a second barrel of 360,000.

Karlsson gave it some thought before coming up with a check-raise to 800,000. Yurasov, getting a solid price on his money, made the call in position, creating a pot of over 2 million chips.

The {Q-Clubs} hit the river, which gave Yurasov top pair, but kept Karlsson in front with two pair. The Swede asked how much Yurasov had behind and went in the tank for over two minutes. All the time, the Russian seized up his opponent, trying to get a read.

Eventually, Karlsson stacked a tower of T-25,000 chips and slid a bet of 550,000 forward. Yurasov quickly called, but went aghast upon seeing Karlsson hand.

With the massive pot, the Swede extended his already extensive chiplead to almost six million in chips, over 100 big blinds deep.

Hand #12: It was folded to Elie Saad on the button. The Lebanese, raised to 110,000 with {3-Spades}{4-Spades} and Mats Karlsson defended his big blind, holding {K-Clubs}{3-Hearts}.

The Swede connected with the {2-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} flop but checked. So did Saad. The {3-Diamonds} turn did pair Saad but he was drawing dead against Karlsson two pair.

Karlsson fired out a bet of 150,000 and Saad called to see the {5-Diamonds} hit the river. Karlsson counted out chips for a bet and made it 350,000. Saad thought about it for a few seconds before laying down his hand.

Boika Takes Over A Million From Ockenden

Level 26 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante
Aliaksei Boika
Aliaksei Boika

Hand #11: Peter Ockenden picked up {K-Clubs}{Q-Spades} and raised to 130,000 from the cutoff. Aliaksei Boika defended his big blind with {K-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}.

Boika flopped a flush draw on {Q-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}, Ockended flopped top pair. Boika checked, Ockenden bet 240,000 and Boika called.

On the {10-Hearts} turn, Boika checked, and Ockenden continued his aggression with a bet of 385,000. The Belarusian, with flush and straight draws, called again, creating a pot of over 1,5 million chips already.

Boika got there on the {10-Diamonds} river, completing his flush. It took about two minutes before Boika came to a decision, and he led out with a bet of 450,000.

Visibly disgusted, Ockenden removed his sunglasses and tried to figure out the situation. After some more deliberation, the Brit called and got shown the bad news. Boika raked in a monstrous pot of 2,5 million and is now second in chips.

Hand 10: From first position, Tomas Macnamara shoved for the third time in a row. He was holding {A-Spades}{8-Clubs} and was all in for 765,000 in total.

It was folded to Peter Ockenden in and he made the call with {6-Spades}{6-Hearts}.

It was a race and Macnamara needed to hit to survive. The {J-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{7-Hearts} flop wasn't any of it's liking. However, when the {Q-Clubs} hit the turn he gained some extra outs to counterfeit Ockenden.

But it was the {Q-Diamonds} that fell on the river and Macnamara shook hands with the other five players before he left the table.

With his €76,790 payday, he scored his best live poker result so far. It was the sixth cash in an EPT Main Event for the Brit.
