Pratyush Buddiga Eliminated in 7th Place (€39,100)

Level 17 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante
Pratyush Buddiga
Pratyush Buddiga

Charlie Carrel opened with a raise to 85,000 from the cutoff and Behzad Ahadpour called on the button. Pratyush Buddiga moved in for a little under 700,000 in the big blind.

Carrel folded, but Ahadpour instantly called the extra chips.

Pratyush Buddiga: {6-Hearts}{6-Spades}
Behzad Ahadpour: {K-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}

The flop {5-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} was safe for Buddiga, but the {Q-Spades} on the turn flipped the tables on him. Buddiga needed a six or a four to survive, but the {5-Diamonds} on the river fell just in between. Buddiga received €39,100 for his 7th place finish.

Adrian Mateos Eliminated in 8th Place (€30,550)

Level 17 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante
Adrian Mateos
Adrian Mateos

Action folded to Adrian Mateos in the cutoff and the Spanish EPT champion shoved for 505,000. His neighbor Behzad Ahadpour pushed all in as well, wagering 535,000. Rocco Palumbo folded his small blind but big blind Pratyush Buddiga slammed his cards open on the table as well as some chips; he was putting them both at risk.

Behzad Ahadpour: {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}
Pratyush Buddiga: {Q-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}
Adrian Mateos: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}

The flop of {7-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{K-Clubs} and the {6-Diamonds} turn did nothing for anybody but the {10-Clubs} on the turn sure did make a difference.

Ahadpour was getting up anyway, but as soon as Scott Seiver waved the ten that had hit the river, he sat back down again. Triple for Ahadpour, elimination for Mateos.

Short Stacks With Fold Equity

Level 17 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

In middle position, Pratyush Buddiga raised to 80,000. Action folded to Adrian Mateos in the big blind, who went all in for 400,000. It was a ten big blind shove, but Buddiga let it go.

A couple of hands afterwards, Charlie Carrel one-upped Buddiga by raising to 85,000, then folding to a 375,000 shove from Behzad Ahadpour. The short stacks still have fold equity at this final table.

Steve O'Dwyer Eliminated in 10th Place (€20,400)

Level 16 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante
Steve O'Dwyer
Steve O'Dwyer

From the cutoff, Charlie Carrel came in with a raise to 65,000. Steve O'Dwyer three-bet on the button to 195,000, and Carrel called to see a flop.

The flop was {7-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} and Carrel checked. O'Dwyer continued his agression with a bet of 295,000. Carrel didn't waste too much time before check-raising all in, which was effectively for O'Dwyer's total stack of 900,000. It took O'Dwyer merely one second to come to a decision.

"Call."

Just like that, a pot of over two million chips was created.

Charlie Carrel: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}
Steve O'Dwyer: {J-Spades}{J-Clubs}

Carrel was a slight favorite to win the hand, needing to hit an ace, queen or diamond. The {6-Diamonds} on the turn instantly decided it: Carrel made his flush, leaving O'Dwyer drawing dead.

The title defense of O'Dwyer came to an end in 10th place, cashing €20,400.
