Selbst Raises Big

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

In one of the last hands before the break, Vanessa Selbst made it 13,000 from early position. Ihair Soika in the big blind made the call.

Both players checked the flop of {J-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{4-Spades} before the {4-Hearts} hit the turn. Soika bet 22,000 and Selbst called.

The river {2-Diamonds} completed the board and Soika bet a hefty 63,000 with 310,000 behind. Selbst thought about it for a bit, studied her opponents stack, and then raised to 222,000.

Soika wasn't happy with what had happened, and with a pained face he tanked for about a minute or 5. In the end he folded, and Selbst quietly mucked.

"I think he folded a big hand" said Selbst as she gave us some details for the transcript above.
