Van Zijp Eliminated in Remarkable Hand

Level 11 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Under the gun, Ivan Banic raised to 2,700 and action folded to Danny van Zijp in the big blind. The Dutchman three-bet to 12,000 and Banic made the call.

While the dealer dealt the {A-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{10-Clubs} flop, Banic had already showed his hand as he thought that Van Zijp was all in. The {10-Spades}{10-Hearts} of Banic was for everyone to see, and the floor was called over to make a ruling as Van Zijp still had about 40,000 or so behind.

The floor ruled that Banic' hand was still live and that he could play it any way he liked, but that he would receive a penalty after the hand was finished.

Van Zijp checked and Banic asked how much Van Zijp still had behind. He then moved all in and Van Zijp snap called!

Danny van Zijp: {J-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}
Ivan Banic: {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}

While the players on the table were in awe of what had just happened, the dealer fanned the {A-Spades} and {8-Hearts} to complete the board. Exit for Van Zijp, the pot and one orbit penalty for Banic.
