hit the river and Vousden bet out 65,000. Lopes went into the tank.
"Frenchies never fold" Vousden said. "You have ace-high?"
"Better" Lopes replied.
"Surely you can't fold. Call! What do you have?" Vousden said.
"What do you have?" Lopes replied.
"A pair..." Vousden answered, followed by a long silence and then "Maybe."
"Show if I fold?" Lopes asked.
"I can show you one" Vousden said.
"I showed you 2 with the flush" Lopes said.
"You get too much info if I tell you I'll show 2. Maybe I'll show 2. What pair do you have?" Vousden asked again. "You can't fold a pair. A pair is good. It's hard to make a pair!"
Lopes did fold in the end and Vousden did show his hand: ![{8-Spades}](/img/cards/8s.gif)

"Under the board" Lopes answered, despite the fact that the river was a deuce.
