Thumy Doubles Through McDonald

Level 14 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

Clement Thumy made it 5,000 to go under the gun plus one and Mike McDonald in the big blind made the call. The flop came {K-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} and McDonald checked. Thumy made a continuation bet of 5,500 and McDonald check raised to 13,500. Thumy now pushed all in for 24,600 and McDonald made the call.

Clement Thumy: {A-Clubs}{K-Hearts}
Mike McDonald: {J-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}

McDonald had 46.46% chance to win the hand, but this time wouldn't be one of them. The {8-Clubs} on the turn and {6-Spades} on the river were as blank as they could come, and McDonald parted ways with about half his stack.

Level 14 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

Duda: {K-Spades}{K-Clubs}
O'Rourke: {9-Spades}{8-Spades}

The board ran out {A-Hearts}, {3-Spades} and O'Rourke found himself a much needed double up.

Tremzin and Chouity Chop It Up

Level 14 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

Chip leader Gleb Tremzin and Nicolas Chouity just chopped a pot that almost was shipped to Tremzin by mistake.

Tremzin checked on a {6-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} flop, Chouity checked behind, then Tremzin bet 4,700 on the {4-Spades} turn. Chouity called before both players checked the {6-Hearts} river.

Both players held a ten, Chouity held {Q-Hearts}{10-Spades} and Tremzin {10-Hearts}{8-Spades}, but the dealer looked to be awarding the pot to Tremzin before realising it was a chopped pot.

Team PokerStars Pro Chris Moneymaker has joined Chouity and Tremzin's table and has done so with 327,000 chips.

Farrell In Good Shape For Another Deep Run

Level 14 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

Niall Farrell, winner of the recent European Poker Tour Malta Main Event, is up to 340,000 chips here in Prague and if he continues to accumulate chips on Day 3 and beyond, we'll be forced to start talking about the possibility of back-to-back EPT titles!

A few moments ago, Farrell raised to 5,000 and was called by the player in the small blind who check-called a 5,000 continuation bet on a {4-Spades}{2-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} flop. Farrell then folded to a 15,000 bet on the {2-Spades} turn claiming "I was ahead until the turn."

Charlie Carrel Sent Home

Level 14 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante
Charlie Carrel
Charlie Carrel

Charlie Carrel opened the action with a raise and Mikolaj Zawadzki made the call from the button. Samuel Vousden came along from the big blind and the flop came {J-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{9-Clubs}. The big blind checked and Carrel bet one-third of the pot. Both Zawadzki and Vousden called.

The {J-Spades} fell on the turn and now Vousden lead out for one-third of the pot. Carrel and Zawadzki called.

The river came the {3-Hearts} and Vousden bet 58,000, more than Carrel had. He tanked for quite some time, and at one point a player at the table asked if Zawadzi was thinking at the same time because he didn't want to do this waiting thing twice. Another player called the clock on Carrel and the Brit called with about 40 seconds left. Zawadzi instantly called as well.

Charlie Carrel: {J-Clubs}{10-Spades}
Mikolaj Zawadzki: {7-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}
Samuel Vousden: {10-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}

The trips of Carrel were beaten by the straight from Vousden and full house from Zawadzki.

Moneymaker Loses Two Huge Pots in a Row

Level 14 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante
Chris Moneymaker
Chris Moneymaker

Action folded to Chris Moneymaker on the button and he opened for 5,000. Simon Persson in the small blind three bet to 13,000 and the big blind immediately folded. Moneymaker wasn't willing to do the same and four bet to 25,000. Persson five bet to 50,000 and Moneymaker called.

The flop came {J-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{3-Hearts} and Persson bet 36,500. Moneymaker raised to 75,000 and Persson moved all in for 106,200 more.

"I got myself in a pickle here" Moneymaker exclaimed. "I was gonna go all in pre, now I maybe have to call"

Persson wasn't saying anything and just sat there silently. Moneymaker eventually called. "I have a five" Persson said with an almost embarrassed voice. It was good...

Chris Moneymaker: {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}
Simon Persson: {A-Spades}{5-Spades}

The {A-Diamonds} on the turn paired both and Moneymaker gained some outs, but the {2-Diamonds} on the river wasn't one of them.

The next hand there was a raise from early position and a call from Nicolas Chouity. Moneymaker was right back at it and flatted in position. The flop came {Q-Hearts}{9-Spades}{Q-Spades} and the initial raiser checked. Chouity made a bet, Moneymaker called, the initial raiser shoved all in, Chouity called all in for 50,000, and Moneymaker called as well.

Initial raiser: {7-Spades}{8-Spades}
Chris Moneymaker: {K-Spades}{10-Spades}
Nicolas Chouity: {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds}

The {9-Clubs} on the turn and {Q-Clubs} on the river were both blanks and Chouity tripled while Moneymaker and the initial raiser chopped the small side pot.

"Nice table change" Moneymaker said with a sarcastic voice, "Nice two hands!" he followed up that statement.

Klimciauskas Gets Value with Jacks

Level 14 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

Sam Chartier, seated under the gun, was just thinking about his move when the player in the cutoff threw in a raise to 6,000. Chartier, aware of the rules, pointed out that he could still call the big blind, which wouldn't change the action.

Fabrice Soulier, in the big blind, was the only player who did not agree with this, and a member of the floor staff was called over. The supervisor ruled that Chartier could indeed call the size of the big blind, and the player in the cutoff could only retract his raise if the action changed before it was his actual turn.

Soulier argued that it gave Chartier an unfair advantage, as the action would come back around to him, but his call stood. The other players in-between folded, and the player in the cutoff raised to 6,000.

Domantas Klimciauskas, in the small blind, called the raise and Soulier gave up from the big blind. Chartier gave it some thought before tossing in the call, and the flop brought out {4-Hearts}{10-Spades}{5-Diamonds}.

All three players checked on the flop and the turn brought the {9-Hearts}, on which Klimciauskas bet 15,000. Chartier made the call, and the initial raiser folded, after which he received a warning from the supervisor about acting out of turn.

The river completed the board with the {7-Clubs} and Klimciauskas bet 37,000. Chartier tanked for a while before calling, and the Lithuanian player tabled {J-Spades}{J-Clubs}. The French-Canadian pro looked back down at his cards, and slowly threw his cards towards the muck.

Vamplew Scores a Timely Double

Level 14 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

David Vamplew, a former European Poker Tour Main Event champion, has doubled to 71,000 late on Day 2 here in Prague.

Preben Stokkan raised to 5,000 in late position, was called by the button before Vamplew raised all-in for what turned out to be 32,500. Stokkan reshoved, the button folded and the hands of the all-in players revealed:

Vamplew: {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds}
Stokkan: {A-Clubs}{K-Hearts}

Vamplew needed to avoid an ace or king to stay alive in the tournament. He did so on the {10-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{5-Clubs} flop, and the {3-Hearts} turn although the turn gave Stokkan more outs to a straight. The {7-Clubs} river wasn't one of them and Vamplew saw his stack size swell.
