Romundstad River Bet Wins the Pot

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

Lars Romundstad was under the gun and he made it 900 to go. Niall Farrell called in the hijack, and Khorshid Sakhr called in the big blind.

Sakhr checked on the {7-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{3-Hearts} flop, Romundstad bet 1,200, and both of his opponents called. All three players checked on the {9-Hearts} turn, with Sakhr checking for a third time when the dealer places the {7-Hearts} on the river. Romunstad bet 3,800, Farrell instantly released, and Sakhr's cards hit the muck after 30-40 seconds of pondering at least a call.

Vamplew Chops a Big Pot

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

David Vamplew is up to 57,000 chips, but could have been much higher had he not chopped a pot a few moments ago.

Vamplew was on the button and had raised all-in for 20,150 effective after Jan Krejci had made it 7,200 from the small blind. Krejci tanked for more than two minutes before calling. All the players at the table craned their necks to see what hands had caused such a commotion, but they were left slightly disappointed when Krejci showed {A-Hearts}{K-Clubs} and Vamplew {A-Clubs}{K-Hearts}.

No drama from the {2-Spades}{3-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{5-Hearts} board meant the pot was chopped.

The Defending Champ Has Been Eliminated

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante
Stephen Graner
Stephen Graner

Last year, the USA's Stephen Graner, who was playing in his first European Poker Tour event, defeated a record field of 1,107 players in the 2014 PokerStars.com EPT Season 11 Prague Main Event to capture a €969,000 first-place prize. Graner was in action today looking to defend his title, but any hope of that happening was cut short.

It happened when Jochum Weenink opened for 900 from middle position and Mustafa Biz, who was to his direct left, made the call. When action reached a short-stacked Graner in the cutoff, he three-bet to 3,000, leaving himself just 2,175 behind. Action folded back around to Weenink, who four-bet to 5,400, and then Biz came in with a five-bet to 12,500. Graner didn't seem thrilled, but called off nonetheless.

Weenink put in the additional chips to create a side pot, and the two active players saw a {8-Hearts}{q-Spades}{6-Spades} flop. Weenink checked, Biz bet 10,500, and Weenink got out of the way.

Graner: {k-Clubs}{q-Clubs}
Biz: {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}

Graner had flopped top pair, but he was behind the pocket rockets. The {A-Spades} turn left Graner drawing dead, and he wish the table luck before the {6-Diamonds} river made his elimination official.

ElkY Enters, Joins a Tough Table

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

Team PokerStars Pro Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier has entered the Prague Main Event and is seated with Martin Staszko and Dara O'Kearney among others.

Staszko opened to 950 and was called by Guy Bachar in the cutoff. ElkY called in the big blind and it was three-handed to the {9-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} flop. ElkY checked, Staszko bet 1,500 and everyone else folded. Not the greatest of poker hands ever, but it allows us to update the chip counts of these three stars.

Also, on ou way back to the media room, we caught a glimpse of poker media guru Marc Convey who is sat with 10,500 chips.
