Hands 12-14: Butzhammer Takes the Lead

Level 31 : 60,000/120,000, 20,000 ante

Hand #12: Hossein Ensan with {A-Spades}{Q-Clubs} made it 240,000 under the gun. Gleb Tremzin called from the big blind with {Q-Diamonds}{2-Spades}. The flop favored Tremzin with {2-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{3-Clubs} and he lead out for 255,000 into the 640,000 pot. Ensan, now with a 15% hand according to the graphics, made the call in position, growing the pot to 1,150,000.

Everything changed on the turn where the {A-Diamonds} appeared, upgrading Ensan's hand to 95%. Tremzin bet 575,000 and Ensan called. The {K-Clubs} completed the board and Tremzin bet 800,000 into the 2.3 million pot. Ensan, with 1,540,000 behind, called instantly. Tremzin showed his hand and lost the chip lead, Ensan was up to 4,640,000.

Hand #13: This hand was not shown on the stream but went to Thomas Butzhammer who stole the blinds with a raise from the button.

Hand #14: Slaven Popov made it 260,000 from first position with {A-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}. Thomas Butzhammer in the cutoff with the {J-Spades}{8-Spades} three-bet to 640,000. Action folded back around to Popov and he called to create a 1.56 million pot. The flop came {2-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}, helping Butzhammer in front. Popov checked and Butzhammer did the exact same thing.

The {4-Clubs} hit the turn and Popov bet out 675,000. Butzhammer made the call. The {3-Spades} completed the board and with 2,910,000 in the pot both Popov and Butzhammer decided to check. Butzhammer took it down with his pair of eights and grew his stack to 7.87 million.

Olivier Ferrero

Hand #10: With just three big blinds left, Olivier Ferrero folded and it was Hossein Ensan who raised with {A-Clubs}{9-Clubs} from the button to 265,000. Slavan Popov called from the big blind with {J-Hearts}{10-Clubs}.

Hands 6-9: Ensan Doubles, Ferrero Short

Level 31 : 60,000/120,000, 20,000 ante

Hand #6: Ilkin Amirov in the cutoff opened for 250,000 with another big hand; {J-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}. Slaven Popov made the call on the button with {9-Spades}{7-Spades}. Gleb Tremzin in the big blind over called with {10-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}.

Three way to the flop: {A-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{8-Spades}. Amirov was still ahead with his jacks but the ace on the flop had Tremzin and him check. Popov, in position, bet 330,000 and Tremzin called with second pair, Amirov folded the best hand. {K-Diamonds} on the turn and Tremzin checked. Popov, now with a 3% hand, checked behind.

The {8-Clubs} fell on the river and Tremzin bet a mere 365,000 into the 1,590,000 pot. Popov just about instantly folded.

Hand #7: Action folded to Slaven Popov in the cutoff and he made it 240,000 with {Q-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}. Short stack Olivier Ferrero found {K-Spades}{4-Diamonds} in the big blind but didn't defend. Pot to Popov.

Hand #8: Popov with the {A-Spades}{5-Diamonds} went for two in a row and opened to 240,000 from early position. It was short stacked Hossein Ensan in the big blind but he too had a nothing hand ({8-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}) and folded.

Hand #9: {9-Spades}{6-Spades} for Gleb Tremzin in the cutoff with two shorties behind him. He opened to 265,000 nonetheless. Olivier Ferrero with {5-Hearts}{5-Clubs} on the button moved in for 1,255,000 and Hossein Ensan called all in for 860,000 with {A-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} from the blinds. Tremzin folded.

It was a pure coinflip, but that all changed after the {Q-Clubs}{J-Spades}{2-Clubs} flop! Ensan was now leading, and he didn't get in trouble anymore with the {10-Clubs} on the turn and {10-Spades} on the river. Double up for Ensan, Ferrero down to just 3 big blinds.

Hands 1-2: Quads for Popov

Level 30 : 50,000/100,000, 10,000 ante

Hand #1: Ilkin Amirov raised under the gun plus one with {K-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds} to 205,000 and he picked up the pot. This hand puts Amirov over 10 million chips, about 2.5 million more than Gleb Tremzin, who's in second place.

Hand #2: Ilkin Amirov raised under the gun with {J-Hearts}{9-Hearts} to 205,000 and Slaven Popov woke up with {8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} on his direct left. Popov called, and the other players folded. The flop came down {8-Clubs}{8-Spades}{6-Clubs} and Popov flopped quads! Amirov continued for 175,000 and Popov made the call.

On the turn the {9-Spades} hit, giving Amirov a pair, but he was already drawing dead against the quads of his opponent. Amirov bet 255,000 and Popov stared at the board before making it 660,000 total. Amirov went into the tank for quite some time before calling, and the river was the {5-Spades}.

This time Amirov checked, and Popov bet 1,195,000 with 2,290,000 in the middle. Amirov folded rather quickly and Popov picked up the first big pot of this six-handed final table.

Who Going to Take Down the EPT Prague Main Event?

Ilkin Amirov
Ilkin Amirov

Still 6 players are in contention for the coveted 2015 PokerStars EPT Season 12 Prague €5,300 Main Event title, with Ilkin Amirov in the lead. The Azerbaijani was already going strong when he knocked out no less than three people in one hand to go from 13 to 10 players in one swoosh. That hand, dubbed one of the wildest hands in EPT history, speeded things up, but it still took for just after midnight to finish the penultimate day.

The final table starts at 1 om local time today (in about an hour), but live coverage on PokerNews.com doesn't start till 2 pm as we don't want to spoil anything for the live stream. There's still some 23 minutes left in level 30 (50,000/100,000 with a 10,000 ante), which gives chip leader Amirov 100 big blinds while short stack Olivier Ferrero starts with only 18 big blinds.
