Thorel Makes (Another) Monster Bluff

Level 18 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Kitson Kho opened the button for 85,000 and Jean-Noel Thorel in the big blind was the sole caller. Thorel checked on {4-Spades}{7-Hearts}{A-Hearts}, and called the 130,000 continuation bet that followed.

The {5-Diamonds} fell on the turn and Thorel grabbed some chips at seemingly random, and slid them forward. It was 150,000 to Kho and he called.

The river was the {10-Clubs} and Thorel instantly shoved all in for 939,000. Kho sighed, leaned back in his chair, thought about it for some time and even counted out the 939,000, but eventually folded {A-Spades}{Q-Hearts} face up. Thorel, with a barely visible smile, showed {3-Hearts}{5-Clubs}.

The next hand action folded to Thorel. He was still stacking his chips but eventually folded, giving Gieles a walk in the big blind. Gieles, one of the shortest stacks, had pocket aces.
