Carrel Spinning it Early, Bluffs Nitsche

Level 4 : 150/300, 25 ante

Dominik Nitsche bet 6,000 on a {5-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{8-Clubs} flop from the small blind against two opponents. Charlie Carrel called in middle position, and the third player folded. Nitsche bet 13,500 on the {7-Clubs} turn, and Carrel again called. On the {6-Hearts} river, Nitsche checked the board that was now fraught with potential danger.

"You have six blues?" Carrel asked softly, referring to the T5,000 chips. Nitsche only moved his hands in response.

Carrel put Nitsche all in, causing the German some consternation. After at least three or four minutes of tanking, he mucked his hand.

"Fold aces?" someone asked.

"Something like that," Nitsche said.

"Show a jack," someone said to Carrel, who was sliding his cards to the dealer. He seemed unsure if he should show, but apparently only needed a bit more encouragement. "Show an eight."

"An eight would be interesting," Nitsche said.

Carrel showed both: {j-Spades}{8-Spades}.
