Down to 24

As the tournament is down to 24 players, a complete redraw is done. After the redraw, a 10-minute break will commence.

Altergott Scores Back-to-Back Eliminations

Level 12 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Max Altergott
Max Altergott

After Sam Trickett opened with a raise, Max Altergott three-bet to 55,000. Trickett responded by four-betting all in for what looked like 200,000 or so and Altergott made the call.

Trickett: {q-Spades}{j-Spades}
Altergott: {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}

Trickett found himself in dire straits on the {5-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{a-Hearts} flop, but the {J-Clubs} turn kept him drawing live. Trickett needed another jack, but it didn't come as the {K-Clubs} blanked on the river.

In the very next hand, Altergott raised to 23,000 from the hijack only to have Jason Koon three-bet all in for 177,000 from the cutoff. Action folded back to Altergott and he thought for a minute or so before making the call.

Altergott: {5-Clubs}{5-Hearts}
Koon: {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs}

It was a flip, but the {2-Spades}{7-Spades}{q-Spades} flop kept Altergott in the lead. The {8-Spades} turn gave Koon some chop outs as a spade would give both players a flush, but it'd be the {K-Clubs} that peeled off on the river. It was a blank as far as Koon was concerned.

"Good game guys," he offered before taking his leave.

Greenwood Cut Down

Level 11 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Leonid Markin opened for 30,000 from the cutoff and then called after Sam Greenwood three-bet all in for 50,000 from the button.

Markin: {q-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}
Greenwood: {a-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}

Greenwood got it in good, but things looked shaky when the {k-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{7-Clubs} flop gave Markin an open-ended straight draw. The {9-Diamonds} turn completed it, and after the meaningless {10-Spades} was put out on the river, Greenwood exited the tournament floor.

Oh Hello, Dario

Level 11 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Dario Sammartino just sent Steve O'Dwyer to the rail and pushed his stack up to 1.5 million. On the feature table, O'Dwyer was all in for 282,000 with the {A-Clubs}{K-Hearts} against the dominating {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds} for Sammartino. The flop, turn, and river ran out {10-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}, and O'Dwyer was eliminated.

Altergott Doubles Franczak

Level 11 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Piotr Franczak
Piotr Franczak

We picked up the action on a flop of {10-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{K-Clubs} and Piotr Franczak checked from the big blind. Max Altergott bet 34,000 and Mikita Badziakouski made the call. Franczak now pushed all in for 111,000, and after some tanking, Altergott made the call. Badziakouski folded.

Max Altergott: {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs}
Piotr Franczak: {5-Hearts}{5-Clubs}

The {J-Clubs} turn and {8-Clubs} on the river were blanks, and Franczak doubled.

Kaverman Doubles Through Greenwood

Level 11 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Byron Kaverman
Byron Kaverman

Sam Greenwood opened for 25,000 under the gun and action folded to Byron Kaverman in the small blind. Kaverman made it 67,000 and Greenwood called after the big blind folded.

The flop came {A-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{7-Clubs} and Kaverman checked. Greenwood bet 44,000 and Kaverman called.

Both players checked the {9-Clubs} on the turn and the {6-Diamonds} popped up on the river. Kaverman checked again, and called the push for his remaining 176,000 from Greenwood.

Kaverman was the proud owner of {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} and Greenwood had to muck his {A-Spades}{10-Spades}.

Kurganov Collects Another Scalp

Level 11 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Action folded to Carlos Chadha in the small blind and he shoved all in. Kurganov looked at one card (the {K-Hearts}), and made the call as the push wasn't for too many chips with about 67,000.

Igor Kurganov: {K-Hearts}{2-Hearts}
Carlos Chadha: {9-Hearts}{6-Spades}

The board ran out {A-Hearts}{4-Spades}{7-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{4-Clubs} and Chadha made his exit. "Good game guys" Chadha said while he got up and collected his stuff.

Defending Champ Runs Out of Time

Level 11 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Daniel Colman - Mike McDonald
Daniel Colman - Mike McDonald

Daniel Colman kicked off his incredible year right here at the EPT Grand Final by winning this very event for €1,539,300. Colman was in action today looking to defend his title, but that attempt was just cut short by Mike "Timex" McDonald.

It happened when action folded to a short-stacked Colman on the button and he shoved all in for 105,000. McDonald called from the small blind, and Colman discovered the bad news.

Colman: {k-Clubs}{7-Clubs}
McDonald: {k-Spades}{q-Diamonds}

Colman had kicker issues, and while he paired it on the {7-Spades}{q-Spades}{2-Diamonds} flop, McDonald also paired his queen. Colman began to get out of his chair after the dealer burned and turned the {4-Diamonds}, and then took his leave from the tournament after the useless {3-Clubs} was put out on the river.
