Traut's The Unlikely Chip Leader

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Heinz Traut
Heinz Traut

German pro Heinz Traut has been around for quite some time, and earlier this week he won the Seniors event here in Barcelona. The German's biggest score came at the 2014 Estrellas Main Event where he finished third for €89,219, but right now he's probably in the biggest spot of his life.

Traut had just one big blind right before the bubble of this tournament, but currently he's the chip leader after just knocked out Michel Leibgorin.

Leibgorin raised from the button to 24,000 and Traut used his big stack to put the Frenchman all in. Leibgorin called it off for about 230,000 chips, and the showdown went as following.

Traut: {Q-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}
Leibgorin: {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}

The board ran out {8-Spades}{9-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{4-Hearts} and Traut knocked out yet another player to put himself at 1.75 million.
