Huge Double Puts Petrangelo in the Lead

Level 25 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante
Nick Petrangelo
Nick Petrangelo

Nick Petrangelo raised from late position, and Niklas Astedt called from the big blind. The duo saw the {7-Hearts}{7-Spades}{2-Diamonds} flop, and Niklas Astedt check-called a bet from Petrangelo before the dealer dealt the {10-Diamonds} on the turn. Astedt checked again, and Petrangelo fired 260,000. Astedt called.

The river was the {9-Spades}, and Astedt checked. Petrangelo fired a bet of 465,000, but Astedt decided to play for it all and check-raised all in. Petrangelo snap-called and turned over the {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs} for a turned full house. Astedt showed the {7-Diamonds}{6-Spades} for trip sixes.

The dealer counted down Petrangelo's stack on the river to announce that it was worth 1.855 million. Astedt paid the amount, leaving himself with 1.075 million, and Petrangelo shot up to 4.7 million and into the lead.

Boika Doubles Through MacPhee

Level 25 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

From the hijack seat, Aliaksei Boika raised to 110,000. Kevin MacPhee reraised to 250,000 on the button, and play folded back to Boika. He announced that he was all in for 1.445 million, and MacPhee quickly called with the {A-Hearts}{K-Clubs}. Boika had the {6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}.

The {J-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{J-Hearts} board kept Boika's sizes in front to give him the double up.

Flush for Astedt

Level 25 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

From under the gun, Gerald Karlic raised to 110,000. Niklas Astedt called from the hijack seat, and Nick Petrangelo called from the big blind.

The trio of players took the {Q-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{7-Spades} flop, and Petrangelo checked. Karlic bet 140,000, and Astedt called. Petrangelo folded.

The turn was the {6-Hearts}, and Karlic bet 320,000. Astedt made the call, and the river was the {4-Hearts}. Karlic checked, and Astedt checked, both after some thought.

Karlic showed the {8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}, but it was Astedt's {K-Hearts}{J-Hearts} that took the pot with a flush.

Jyri Merivirta Eliminated in 13th Place (€60,900)

Level 25 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante
Jyri Merivirta - 13th Place
Jyri Merivirta - 13th Place

Jyri Merivirta was all in and at risk before the flop for his last 725,000 against Niklas Astedt. The hands were exposed to find that Merivirta was in need of some help.

Merivirta: {k-Clubs}{q-Spades}
Astedt: {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}

The flop came out {10-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}, keeping Astedt's ace-queen high out in front. That all changed in an instant, however, as the {k-Diamonds} drilled fourth street and gave Merivirta the lead with a pair of queens. That lead was quickly given back to Astedt, however, as the {a-Clubs} finished the board and allowed him to score the knockout.

Merivirta was eliminated in 13th place and took home a payday of €60,900.

Aleksandr Denisov Eliminated in 14th Place (€53,000)

Level 25 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante
Aleksandr Denisov - 14th Place
Aleksandr Denisov - 14th Place

Action folded around to Aleksandr Denisov on the button who moved out a raise to about 320,000. This was a raise for most of his stack, leaving himself with just about 110,000 behind. It folded to Mustapha Kanit in the big blind and he announced a raise all in. Denisov called for his tournament life and the hands were rolled on their backs.

Kanit: {a-Spades}{q-Clubs}
Denisov: {5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}

The board came down {6-Spades}{a-Hearts}{8-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}, pairing Kanit's ace and eliminating Denisov from play. Kanit's stack increased to about 3.52 million in chips with this win.

Kanit's Two Pair is Better

Level 25 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

Mustapha Kanit opened to 100,000 from middle position and action folded around to Matias Jansson who made it 325,000 to go from the big blind. Kanit called and the two took a flop of {j-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{10-Spades}. Jansson continued out for 300,000 and Kanit called to see a turn.

The {a-Hearts} hit the turn and Jansson slowed with a check. Kanit did the same and the {7-Diamonds} finished off the board on the river. Jansson moved 400,000 past the betting line and Kanit instantly called. Jansson showed {a-Clubs}{5-Spades} for aces up only to be bested by Kanit's {a-Clubs}{7-Clubs} for a better two pair. Kanit took down the pot and brought his stack up to 3.1 million in chips.
