Khoroshenin Flops a Straight, Wins Big

Level 29 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante
Oleksii Khoroshenin

Anthony Ghamrawi opened under the gun to 160,000 with {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}. Action folded to Pablo Gordillo who made the call on the button with {J-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}, and Oleksii Khoroshenin with {7-Clubs}{6-Spades} called from the big blind as well.

{4-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{5-Clubs}

Khoroshenin flopped the nuts and lead out for 250,000. Ghamrawi, who flopped the nut flush draw with two overs, made the call. Pablo Gordillo, still with the under represented over pair, over called after some heavy thinking.

Three way to the turn where the {A-Hearts} appeared. What a card to hit as Ghamrawi now had top pair to go along with his flush draw. Khoroshenin bet again, 700,000 this time around. The pot was 2,045,000 in the meantime and Ghamrawi called. Gordillo knew enough by this time, and folded his jacks.

2,745,000 in the pot as the {A-Spades} hit the river. Khoroshenin bet out a hefty 1,220,000 and that sent Ghamrawi in to the tank. The home town player took off his sunglasses and really pondered for a couple of minutes. He shook his head, seemed truly in pain, and folded eventually.

No showdown, but what a hand and what a lay down!
