Middleton Folds to Turn Bet

Level 11 : 600/1,200, 200 ante
Tom Middleton
Tom Middleton

Olvedo Heinze opened to 2,600 from early position and was called by Mohsin Charania on the button. Tom Middleton then three-bet to 8,800 out of the small blind.

Heinze played with his chips for a minute or so before making a four-bet to 16,600. Charania did not fold straight away like one would expect, instead he took a couple of minutes himself before finally electing to muck his hand.

Middleton wanted a count on Heinze' stack before he decided to just call and the pair saw a {2-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{7-Spades} flop. Middleton checked then called a 15,000 bet from Heinze to see the {10-Spades} on the turn. Middleton checked again and Heinze bet 35,000. Middleton frowned and mucked his hand.

Schemion Doesn’t Bluff

Level 11 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Ole Schemion opened for 2,800 and got called by the big blind Mark Teltscher.

They went to a flop of {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{9-Clubs} and they both checked. The turn card was the {8-Clubs} and when Teltscher checked Schemion bet 3,000.

Teltscher wasn’t sure; he thought about it for a bit and checked his cards several times before folding and asking Schemion if he would show. Schemion said he could look at one and Teltscher turned over the {a-Hearts}

“For once he didn’t bluff me.” Teltscher told the table.

Set Over Set Boosts Ivey's Stack

Level 11 : 600/1,200, 200 ante
Phil Ivey
Phil Ivey

As we arrived the turn was already out in a heads up pot between Phil Ivey and Samir Bouchakour from France.

With the board reading {3-Hearts}{J-Spades}{5-Clubs}{9-Clubs}, Bouchakour checked to Ivey. The poker super star grabbed 13,000 from his stack and nonchalantly threw it in the middle. Bouchakour thought about it for a little bit and then raised it up to 27,000. Ivey made the call.

The river came the {A-Hearts} and Bouchakour checked. Ivey couldn't exactly tell how much his French opponent had behind and asked if Bouchakour could lift his arms so he could see. Bouchakour did just that and Ivey saw there was about 60,000 behind.

"Allin" he then said as he moved two towers forward. The black and red allin-triangle was tossed in front of him and Bouchakour thought about it for a little bit. "Call" he said all of the sudden. "He said call right?" asked Ivey the dealer for clarification.

Ivey showed his {5-Spades}{5-Diamonds} and Bouchakour's face changed from excited to deeply devastated. He didn't open his cards so the dealer wasn't shoving the pot to Ivey just yet. Bouchakour eventually tapped the table, and open mucked his {3-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}.

Bouchakour got up from his table with shoulders hanging and a look of despair. Ivey was stacking chips which made for about 235,000.

Smith Takes a Beating Well

Level 11 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Alexander Timokhin shoved all in for his last 25,800 and with a shrug Daniel Smith said, “I call.” and flipped over {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}.

Timokhin was out of his seat tabling the {a-Diamonds}{3-Spades} distraught that he had run into another ace with a better kicker.

The cards though had other ideas as they ran out {8-Spades}{3-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{7-Spades}.

Timokhin sat back down as he had doubled up, and although Smith was left short he was fairly sanguine about it saying, “That’s the game.”

Strassmann not Stressed

Level 11 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

On the river of a {2-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{9-Spades}{9-Clubs} board, Corneliu Cretu fired out a bet of 21,000 on the end against Johannes Strassman.
