Farrell Enters the Supertank

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Niall Farrell - Jack Salter
Niall Farrell - Jack Salter

Jack Salter opened preflop to 11,500 and in the next seat, Niall Farrell made it 26,000. Salter responded by four-betting to 46,500 which Farrell called.

The flop was {A-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{8-Spades} and both players checked.

The {A-Clubs} came on the turn and Salter bet 24,000, Farrell made the call to see a blank-looking {2-Clubs} on the river. Salter thought for a minute before announcing all in, sliding a mountain of blue 5k chips into the middle.

Farrell sat for several minutes thinking about whether to risk his remaining chips, eventually apologizing to the table for taking so long.

"All good, all good, take your time," said Heinz Kamutzki.

Farrell continued to fiddle with his chips, muttering something about ICM.

"I really want to call," admitted Farrell.

All the time, the number of people around the table grew as the more impatient of the players joined the crowd. Numerous boom microphones appeared above the table, the dealer on the table looked completely bemused by all the attention. Finally after about 10 minutes of tanking, Farrell finally folded.

Salter showed the {8-Hearts} and Farrell said he had {K-Hearts}{Q-}. Salter was going to tell us what he had but thought better of it, although he admitted he may tell us what he had later.
