Duhamel Survives

Level 3 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Team PokerStars Pro Jonathan Duhamel was the short stack at the table and some of the other players were eyeing him like wounded prey.

Duhamel opened for 4,000 from early position and first Selbst asked how much he had left before folding before he was called by one of the Macau players in the big blind.

They saw a flop of {7-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{8-Spades} and when it was checked to him Duhamel bet 5,800 before calling a raise to 14,400. The turn card was the {3-Spades} and Duhamel’s opponent wanted to know how much he had behind and got a count of 40k before betting 20,000.
Duhamel went all in and got called tabling {q-Clubs}{q-Hearts} against his opponent’s up and down straight draw {a-Clubs}{9-Spades}. Duhamel was at risk of an early exit but the river bricked a {4-Clubs} and he got a double up.
