Bahram Chobineh Makes a Big Fold

Level 20 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

A hand that left the rest of the table flabbergasted just played out between Bahram Chobineh and Carlo De Benedittis. From under-the-gun Chobineh limped, De Benedittis raised to 23,000 only for Chobineh to limp re-raise to 47,000 total. His limp re-raise was met by an instant all-in from De Benedittis.

Back on Chobineh he asjked for a count, De Benedittis was all-in for 363,000 and he covered Chobineh, who had 260,000 back. The Iranian tanked for over three minutes before folding {Q-Spades}{Q-Hearts} face-up. "Wow," exclaimed the table, even more so when De Benedittis showed {A-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}.

Hand Analysis

After considering De Benedittis's possible holdings after such a sequence of bets and raises, Chobineh was able to fold his pocket queens. Goulder up to a Million; Soutchkov Out

Level 20 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Aurelien Soutchkov
Aurelien Soutchkov

Alex Goulder is playing almost a million after eliminating Aurelien Soutchkov at the feature table. The action was started by Norbert Szecsi who opened to 21,000 from the button, Soutchkov flat called from the small blind, only for Goulder to make it 62,000 from the big blind.

Back on Szecsi he folded, Soutchkov moved all-in for 418,000 and Goulder snap called.

Soutchkov: {J-Diamonds}{J-Spades}
Goulder: {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts}

It was a classic race and it was one Goulder won as the board came {Q-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{A-Spades}{4-Hearts}{3-Spades}.

Geilich Gone

Level 20 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Ludovic Geilich
Ludovic Geilich

Another player has been eliminated and it's Ludovic Geilich who's hit the rail. The EPT10 London 4th place finisher was very unlucky to find himself on the rail though.

He and Eli Heath got it all-in pre-flop for a 700,000 pot with Geilich holding pocket aces and Heath a pair of sevens. A seven on the flop sent the pot to Heath. That left Geilich very short and he was out soon after.

"All in and a call!" As we rushed over to the table the entire board was already out: {10-Spades}{K-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{4-Spades}. Tatu Maenpaa had {A-Spades}{Q-Spades} for the flopped nuts. Dario Sammartino had {K-Clubs}{K-Diamonds} for the flopped third nuts. The Italian stood up from the table and left the tournament area with hanging shoulders.

Michel Pomaret Eliminated in 39th place (€14,010)

Level 20 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Sotirios Koutoupas
Sotirios Koutoupas

Michel Pomaret just busted from the feature table after Sotirios Koutoupas made a great call on the river.

Pre-flop Pomaret opened to 23,000 on the button and Koutoupas made the call from the small blind. The {8-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{3-Spades} flop was checked through and the {10-Hearts} fell on the turn. First to act Koutoupas fired out a bet of 27,000, Pomaret raised to 60,000 with 212,000 behind and Koutoupas smooth called. On the {4-Diamonds} river Koutoupas checked, Pomaret moved all-in and Koutoupas put one chip over the line to signal a call. First to show was Pomaret who had {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds}, Koutoupas had {Q-Spades}{2-Spades} for a gutsy call.

After that hand Koutoupas is up to 1,498,000 and the EPT9 Prague runner-up is now the tournament chip leader.
