More for Middy

Level 35 : 150,000/300,000, 40,000 ante

With 2.38 million in the pot and a board reading {k-Clubs}{k-Spades}{6-Spades}{a-Hearts}, both Tom Middleton and Kimmo Kurko checked from the big blind and button respectively. They did the same on the {9-Diamonds} river and Kurko showed the {6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} for kings and sixes. Unfortunately for him, Middleton got him on the turn with the {a-Clubs}{10-Clubs}.

Kurkoo Gets Kurious

Level 35 : 150,000/300,000, 40,000 ante

Kimmo Kurko limped the button with {7-Clubs}{3-Clubs} and Tom Middleton checked with {j-Clubs}{8-Hearts}. They saw a flop of {2-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{6-Spades}. Middleton bet out for 600,000 and Kurko called with his pair. The turn was {6-Hearts} and they both checked. The river {k-Hearts} gave Middleton his flush and, as he has done in several spots before, bet big on the river. 2,000,000 into a pot of 1,800,000. A suspicious Kurko called and saw the flush beat his two pair.

Flip Flop Again

Level 35 : 150,000/300,000, 40,000 ante

With 1.88 million in the pot and a board reading {4-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{k-Hearts}{2-Hearts}, Tom Middleton fired in a big bet of 2 million. Kimmo Kurko was suspicious enough to look him up with the {5-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}, but it was no good as Middleton had rivered a straight with the {6-Spades}{3-Clubs}.

Bad Timing by Middy

Level 35 : 150,000/300,000, 40,000 ante

Tom Middleton raised to 600,000 from the button with {10-Diamonds}{8-Spades} and Kimmo Kurko called with {q-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}. They saw a flop of {7-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} Kurko checked and Middleton continued for 800,000. The turn {3-Clubs} prompted both players to check and the {7-Clubs} fell on the river. Kurko led out for 950,000 and Middleton decided the timie was right for a raise to 3,000,000. It wasn’t and Kurko made the call to regain the chip lead.

Big Pot for Middleton

Level 35 : 150,000/300,000, 40,000 ante

It's been pretty quiet in heads-up play thus far, but a nice pot just upset the balance a bit. It happend when Kimmo Kurko opened for 600,000 with the {j-Clubs}{9-Hearts} and Middleton defended holding{a-Clubs}{4-Clubs}. Both players checked the {10-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} flop, the {9-Clubs} turned and Middleton led out for 900,000 with his pair and flush draw.

Kurko, who had turned a pair of nines, made the call and the {A-Diamonds} completed the board on the river. Middleton bet a hefty 2.2 million and Kurko tanked for a couple of minutes before making the call. Middleton showed his two pair and took down the pot.

Full House for Middleton

Level 34 : 120,000/240,000, 30,000 ante

Kimmo Kurko raised to 500,000 from the small blind with the {k-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} and Tom Middleton defended from the big with the {a-Hearts}{8-Clubs}. The {a-Spades}{k-Spades}{8-Hearts} flop had a little something for both players, but still they checked. After the dealer burned and turned the {A-Diamonds}, Middleton led out for 800,000, Kurko called and the {5-Hearts} completed the board on the river.

Middleton tried to trap with a check, but Kurko didn't take the bait and checked behind. With that win Middleton has evened the stacks and actually holds a very slim chip lead.
