Huge Pot for Soshnikov – New Chip Leader

Level 25 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante
Ivan Soshnikov
Ivan Soshnikov

Ivan Soshnikov opened on the button for 100,000 and Olivier Busquet raised from the button to 250,000. Dmitry Yurasov in the big blind cold four bet to 450,000. Soshnikov’s response? He went all in. Busquet flicked his cards away to fold and Yurasov asked for a count. It was 2.8m. Yurasov gave it serious consideration and decided eventually to make the call. Soshnikov turned over {j-Clubs}{j-Spades} and was in great shape against the frustrated Yurasov’s {9-Clubs}{9-Spades}. The board ran out {8-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{3-Clubs} and Soshnikov knew he had won it on the turn and gave a quiet fist pump as he knew the momentum had swung significantly his way for now.

Busquet Doubles Through Soshnikov

Level 25 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

Action folded to Ivan Soshnikov in the small blind and he moved all in to put the pressure on Olivier Busquet, who liked what he saw and called off for 705,000.

Busquet: {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}
Soshnikov: {j-Clubs}{10-Hearts}

Busquet got it in good, but Soshnikov was holding to live cards. Busquet improved on the {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} flop, and successfully held as the {2-Hearts} blanked on the turn followed by the {6-Clubs} on the river.

Cautious Start

Level 25 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

We are back and playing three handed. The yellow T1000 chips have been taken out of play and they are now using the black 100,000 chips. No significant pots have been contested as yet, they are still relatively deep and none of the players have shown signs of doing anything crazy. There has been no talk of a deal so it looks as if all three of the players still have their eyes firmly set on that first prize of €382,050.

Huge Hand in Last Hand Before the Break

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Olivier Busquet opened for 80,000 from the button and Ivan Soshnikov defended from the big blind. The {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}{6-Diamonds} flop saw Soshnikov check-call a bet of 75,000, and then he promptly checked the {3-Spades} turn. Busquet upped his bet to 225,000, but he couldn't shake his opponent, who made the call.

Soshnikov checked for a third time on the {2-Diamonds} river, and Busquet thought for about 20 seconds before sliding out a bet of 500,000. Soshnikov paused for a beat and the moved all in, which resulted in Busquet shooting back in his chair. He seemed to know something was up but called nonetheless with the {a-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}. Unfortunately for him, Soshnikov had flopped the joint with the {a-Hearts}{6-Clubs} and doubled through.

It was the last hand before a 20-minute break, so we'll have official counts for you momentarily.

Thomas Muhlocker Eliminated in 4th Place (€144,700)

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante
Thomas Muhlocker - 4th Place
Thomas Muhlocker - 4th Place

Dmitry Yurasov and Thomas Muhlocker saw a flop of {j-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}. Muhlocker checked from the big blind and Yurasov continued for 80,000. Muhlocker check-raised to 250,000 and Yurasov clicked it back with a three-bet to 500,000. Muhlocker thought for a moment before moving all in.

Yurasov checked his cards and made the call with the {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}. Unfortunately for Muhlocker, he was out kicked holding the {k-Hearts}{q-Spades}. The turn {8-Clubs} river {5-Spades} meant that Muhlocker was done and had to settle for fourth place and €144,700.

Big Double Up for Busquet

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Dmitry Yurasov opened for 80,000; Ivan Soshnikov called on the button as did Olivier Busquet in the big blind. The three players saw a flop of {9-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}. Busquet checked and Yurasov continued for 120,000. Soshnikov folded but Busquet went for the check raise to 250,000. Yurasov made the call and they were dealt a turn card {7-Spades}. Busquet led out for 350,000 and Yurasov puzzled it out, eyeing up the stack of Busquet. He made his decision and moved all in which Busquet called. Yurasov turned over {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts} top pair and Busquet had {6-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} for the flush draw with one card to come. The dealer burned a card and turned over the {j-Diamonds}.
