Van Der Fluit Takes A Big Hit

We didn't catch the betting, but we do know that Marton Czuczor ended up all in preflop for 104,500 holding {10-Clubs}{10-Spades} and at risk against Vincent van der Fluit, who held {K-Spades}{Q-Spades}.

The {J-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} was good for van der Fluit, who paired his queen to take a commanding lead. Just when things looked bleak for Czuczor, the {10-Hearts} spiked on the turn to give him the lead back with a set. The river could still give van der Fluit a straight, but it didn't happen as the {7-Hearts} peeled off.

Garaev Gone

Denis Pisarev opened on the button, a short-stacked Chulpan Garaev moved all in on his direct left, and after the big blind released. Pisarev made the call.

Pisarev: {a-Spades}{6-Spades}
Garaev: {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}

The {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} flop was clean, and so too was the {4-Spades} on the turn, but the {a-Hearts} spiked on the river, eliminating Garaev from the tournament.

Pisarev chipped up to 290,000.

Sarwer Soaring

Jeff Sarwer is catching up to our chip leaders here in the EPT Prague Main Event, thanks to him winning Tudor Purice's stack.

We arrived at their table to see Purice all-in with {A-Spades}{K-Clubs} and Sarwer in the lead with {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds}. The {9-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} flop was no help to Purice and the {k-Hearts} turn certainly wasn't because it meant he was drawing dead. The inconsequential {5-Hearts} was the river card and Purice started to say his goodbyes.

"I've been waiting for that spot for nearly two hours," said Purice

"Unlucky," said Sarwer before adding, "Two coolers against me."

"Definitely good luck," said Purice before he and Sarwer exchanged pleasantries.

We then complemented Sarwer on his new stack whilst he was trying to stack it up in an orderly manner.

"It's a welcome problem to have," we commented about Sarwer's struggle to stack his mountain of chips.

"It's a problem I've been waiting for for a long time!" came the reply.

Brammer Bossing

Fabrice Soulier doesn't fold to three-bets
Fabrice Soulier doesn't fold to three-bets

Chris Brammer is mixing it up in his usual way, and it's working out very well for him.

Fabrice Soulier opened to 10,500 from mid position and was called by Maroun Jazzar on the button before Brammer squeezed it up to 40,000 from the small blind. Both players made the call to see the {a-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} flop.

Brammer led for 40,000 and both players folded.

"Show the deuce!" asked Soulier.

Brammer looked at him like he was insane and responded, "I don't have a deuce!"

Tripped Up

Denys Larin was all in and at risk on a board of {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}. He held {k-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} for trip tens, which was well ahead of Marco Leonzio's {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}.

The turn and river came {9-Spades}, {6-Clubs} respectively, and Larin doubled to around 130,000 chips.

Leonzio was crippled down to around 20,000, but tripled up a few hands later.

Martiradonna Doubles Through The Chip Leader

The preflop action eluded us, but we do know that Mariano Martiradonna ended up all in for 140,500 and at risk against chip leader Iosif Beskrovnyy.

Showdown
Martiradonna: {A-Clubs}{J-Hearts}
Beskrovnyy: {8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}

While Martiradonna was racing for his tournament life, Beskrovnyy was looking to become the first person over the million-chip mark. The {J-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds} flop was kind to Martiradonna as it paired his jack to give him the lead. The {2-Spades} turn left Beskrovnyy in need of an eight on the river, but it was not meant to be as the {5-Clubs} peeled off.

Martiradonna celebrated with a subdued fist pump while Beskrovnyy got busy counting out chips.

Small One for Brammer

Chris Brammer opened to 10,500 from under the gun, Michele di Lauro three-bet to 24,000 on his direct left, and the action folded back to Brammer, who called.

The flop fell {10-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}, Brammer checked, and di Lauro tossed out 27,000. Brammer called.

The turn was the {8-Hearts}, both players checked, and the river brought the {3-Hearts}. The pair checked again.

Di Lauro flashed {k-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} for king-high, and Brammer turned over {a-Clubs}{5-Clubs} for a pair of fives, winning the hand.
