Busquet Utilises The Power of Position

Level 27 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

Everyone folds around to Olivier Busquet on the button and he sets the price to play at 170,000. Our small blind folded but Jannick Wrang had other ideas and he three-bet to 270,000. Busquest made the call and it was heads-up to the {Q-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{8-Spades} flop.

Despite being the aggressor preflop, Wrang checked to Busquet who wasted no time at all in betting just 175,000, which was smaller than Wrang's preflop three-bet, but it was enough to win the pot.

Visscher Short Again

Jannick Wrang
Jannick Wrang

Olivier Busquet raised to 100,000 and Koen De Visscher three-bet to 230,000 but then Jannick Wrang came in over the top with a four-bet to 405,000, looking as though he was committed to calling a shove from his Belgian opponent. Busquet got out of the way and De Visscher looked incredibly sad and elected to fold, the latter really has an awkward stack at this moment.

Perfect River Card For Wrang

Level 27 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

Belgium's Koen De Visscher opened the betting form the button and Jannick Wrang made the call. The pair shared a flop reading {4-Hearts}{7-Spades}{Q-Hearts} and Wrang tapped the table and checked. De Visscher continued with a bet of 110,000 and after much deliberation Wrang made the call.

The turn was the {J-Spades} and Wrang checked again. De Visscher kept to his story and fired a second barrel worth 240,000 and again Wrang called and we saw the {8-Hearts} land on the river, a card that completed a who host of possible draws. Wrang now lead for 730,000, around half of what De Visscher has behind, the perfect amount. De Visscher obviously believes his opponent has hit and he folds his hand.

The Dane is unstoppable right now.

Mario Nagel Eliminated in 6th Place (€92,000)

Mario Nagel
Mario Nagel

Mario Nagel raised to 100,000 preflop and Jannick Wrang three-bet behind him to 265,000. Nagel tanked and then moved all in for about 2.7 million! Wrang rechecked his cards and thought for about a minute and then made the call.

Nagel: {A-Hearts}{Q-Spades}
Wrang: {Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}

It was the biggest pot of the tournament and Wrang was the favourite, his pocket queens holding on a {9-Spades}{8-Spades}{3-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} board. The Dane was catapulted into the lead, can Denmark make it three EPT's in a row?

Squeezy Does It

Level 27 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

Jannick Wrang

Jannick Wrang may be one of the so-called new breed of poker players but he has just pulled off a typically old school move.

Fabrice Soulier opened to 150,000 from UTG+1 and the action folded to Koen De Visscher on the button and he made the call. The small blind got out of the way but Wrang, in the big blind, squeezed and made it 310,000 to play. Soulier almost instantly folded and De Visscher got out of the way rather quickly too.

De Visscher Doubles Up

Olivier Busquet raised to 100,000 and Koen De Visscher moved all in for 955,000, it was folded back around to Busquet who snap-called.

De Visscher: {5-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}
Busquet: {J-Clubs}{J-Spades}

The flop of {K-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{2-Clubs} looked bad for De Visscher but the {5-Clubs} on the turn put the Belgian ahead and Busquet couldn't find the re-suck on the {8-Spades} river.

Nagel Ramps Up The Aggression

Level 27 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

Since coming back from the break Mario Nagel has really become more aggressive and has started to three-bet with increased regularity.

In one hand he saw Fabrice Soulier open to 110,000 from UTG+1 who then called when Nagel three-bet to 240,000 from the big blind. The flop came down {K-Spades}{A-Spades}{7-Diamonds} and when Nagel continued with a bet of 330,000 Soulier snap-folded.

The very next hand Olivier Busquet opened to 110,000 but then quickly folded when Nagel three-bet to 240,000.

Nagel up to 2,500,000.
