Hansen v ElkY

The Frenchman and the Dane have just locked horns in back-to-back pots.

Hand 1

We joined the action in a single raised pot on a flop of {A-Spades} {K-Spades} {9-Spades} with Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier seated on the button and Gus Hansen in the big blind. Hansen led for 10,200 and ElkY made the call. On the turn we saw the {3-Diamonds} and Hansen led once more. The bet was for 31,100 and ElkY's response was to move all-in prompting a swift fold from Hansen.

Hand 2

ElkY raised to 3,200 in the cutoff and both Hansen and Sam Trickett called in the blinds. The flop was {J-Hearts} {J-Diamonds} {8-Diamonds} and Hansen once again decided to take the betting lead when he put 6,500 over the line. Trickett folded but ElkY once again made the call. The turn {7-Spades} and river {2-Spades} were checked through and it was time for a showdown.

"Ace high," shouted Hansen.

ElkY tabled {8-Clubs} {6-Clubs} and it was enough to scoop the pot.
