Mickey Petersen: Short-Stack Ninja

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Short Stack Ninja
Short Stack Ninja

Mickey Petersen certainly knows how to play a short stack, shove, shove and shove some more for good measure!

Down to his last 7,300, the Team PokerStars Online moved all in from middle position and the action folded around to Helge Stjernvang in the small blind. He called but then folded when Anthony Hnatow came over the top and made it what looked like 17,200.

Hnatow: {K-Hearts}{J-Clubs}
Petersen: {10-Hearts}{9-Clubs}

Petersen spiked a nine on the {7-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{9-Spades} flop and when the turn and river were the {3-Diamonds} and {6-Diamonds} respectively the young Dane more than doubled up.

A couple of hands later and Petersen open-shoved for 24,300 from under the gun and Juha Helppi looked like he was going to call him in the big blind but he just couldn't pull the trigger and Petersen picked up the blinds and antes again.

The very next hand the action folded to Helppi in the small blind and he decided not to take on Petersen and he mucked his hand.

"Would you have called a shove?" asked Helppi

"I've not even looked yet.....(looks at cards)....No!" came the answer.

Petersen up to around 28,000
