Aces, Kings and Queens…Oh My!
We have just seen the top three hands in NLHE come out to play and here is the story.
Simon Ravnsbaek raised to 725 from under the gun, Melanie Weisner called in middle position and the cutoff called before Ilkin Amirov raised on the button making it 2,275 to play. Wim Bos was seated in the small blind and he moved all-in for 17,900. Ravnsbaek asked for a count before making the call and the action folded around to Amirov who bleakly said, "fold."
Bos turned over pocket kings, Ravnsbaek turned over pocket aces and Amirov showed everyone that he had folded pocket queens. Plenty of excitement, but it had not even started. The flop was giving Bos a set of kings. Ravnsbaek remained unmoved even when the gave him a better set on the turn. The river card was the which would have given Amirov a set as well!
Ravnsbaek is up to 80,000, Amirov has 50,000 and Bos is out.
