Panyak Attack

We picked up a heads-up pot on the turn as the board showed {4-Spades} {8-Spades} {A-Spades} {6-Clubs}. The pot was heads-up, and Melanie Weisner was leading the betting. She put out 5,800 into a pot of about 8,000, and Maxim Panyak check-called instantly.

That led them to the {8-Hearts} river, and Panyak knocked the table again. Weisner studied, then made a final bet of 15,100. Panyak only had about 22,000 chips in front of him, and this time he took pause for about 45 seconds before splashing the call into the pot.

Weisner showed up {A-Diamonds} {J-Clubs}, and it was good. A frustrated Panyak tabled his inferior {A-Hearts} {10-Diamonds}, and he was left with just 7,600 after running up against the lady with the better ace.

Panyak did manage a double on the very next hand, so he's not going anywhere just yet. He got he last 7,500 in with {A-Diamonds} {7-Hearts} against Vinny Pahuja's {K-Diamonds} {Q-Spades}. The board ran out a dramatic {A-Spades} {10-Spades} {K-Spades} {K-Clubs} {A-Hearts}, and Panyak sat back down to play on with about 17,500 chips.
