Gomila is Day 4's Godzilla While Katchalov and De Meulder Chase
Day 4 of the 2011 PokerStars.com European Poker Tour Barcelona Main Event is just a short time away from starting and that means another great day of poker is ahead of us.
A few days ago, 811 hopefuls began the quest for EPT glory and the first-place prize of €850,000. Hand by hand, level by level, day by day, players were eliminated and now the tournament finds itself down to the last three tables of 24 players.
Leading the way into Day 4 is Tomeu Gomila with 2.547 million in chips. He collected the majority of those chips on one of the final hands of last night to earn the chip lead. Gomila busted both Jose Angel Latorre Marina and Simon Charette on the same hand when his held up against the of Marina and the for Charette.
The two most notable players returning today are Team PokerStars Pros Eugene Katchalov and Matthias De Meulder. They'll enter the penultimate day with 1.452 million and 1.376 million in chips, respectively. Both of them had plenty of luck on their side yesterday as they had to come from behind in key all-in situations with underpairs to overpairs. Both were able to win those battles and wouldn't be alive today if things would have panned out differently.
