Vissch-ful Thinking for Geshkenbein

Level 27 : 30,000/60,000, 5,000 ante

Vladimir Geshkenbein has lost three hands to Koen De Visscher and is down to 3.8 million; De Visscher is now up to 3.7 million.

Hand 1

Geshkenbein made it 135,000 from the small blind and De Visscher called in the big blind to see an {8-Hearts}{3-Spades}{k-Diamonds} flop. De Visscher bet out what looked like 160,000 and before the amount could be confirmed, Geshkenbein had folded.

Hand 2 - this one's a biggie...

Geshkenbein opened to 135,000 again, this time from the button, and De Visscher called in the small blind. They both checked the {j-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{10-Spades} flop and saw a turn, the {3-Spades}. De Visscher bet out 190,000 now, and Geshkenbein quickly called.

The river was the {4-Spades} and Geshkenbein had another peek at his hole cards before De VIsscher had acted. Undeterred, De Visscher bet out 410,000, and must have been delighted when Geshkenbein called - De Visscher turned over {a-Spades}{9-Spades} for the nuts.

(There was now a break of one hand, during which Kevin Vandersmissen min-raised but folded to a shove from Giacomo Maisto. Then back to De Visscher vs. Geshkenbein.)

Hand 3

Geshkenbein made it 135,000 from the button and Koen De Visscher reraised to 285,000 from the small blind. Geshkenbein called, but quickly folded to a 275,000 bet from De Visscher on the {5-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{10-Spades} flop.

"It was worth a shot," he grinned.
